Digital Content Manager – Philadelphia

Ceisler Media & Issue Advocacy seeks a digital content manager to join its Philadelphia office.

ABOUT THE JOB

This position is responsible for supporting — and in some cases leading — digital content strategy and execution for Ceisler Media and its clients, including social media, e-newsletters, blog posts and more. In addition, the Digital Content Manager leads digital advertising campaigns — from development through reporting — on channels including Meta, LinkedIn and Google. This position reports to Ceisler Media’s Senior Director of Digital Strategy, and works closely with and receives guidance from the Digital Content Director.

The right candidate has strong writing and time management skills, can easily shift between different client projects, is super-organized and hyper-communicative, demonstrates initiative among peers and managers, and needs no help balancing multiple deadlines.

To thrive in this role, the Digital Content Manager should expect to serve as a lead on at least 3 client accounts — interacting directly with clients and working with colleagues all the way to the Senior Vice President level to keep projects running on time. 

Tasks include developing content calendars that reflect a deep understand of individual clients’ goals, workflow and tone of voice; scheduling and posting to social media in a timely manner and staying in communication with clients to ensure messaging is organized and authentic; creating simple graphics or templates in Canva or Illustrator to accompany social media posts; and developing and executing targeted paid campaigns on Meta, LinkedIn and Google Ads. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Three or more years of digital experience in a public relations agency, corporation, political campaign, government administration or nonprofit organization, and at least four years of total experience in communications and/or grassroots advocacy
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, digital communications, English, public relations, business, marketing or a related field
  • Certifications and trainings in digital media are a major plus

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drafts and posts social media content, content calendars, digital toolkits, blogs, website content, digital marketing content and other digital communications materials that contribute to integrated campaigns
  • Creates social media accounts, ad accounts, ad disclaimers, and business managers
  • Develops and executes social media advertising promotions and campaigns
  • Assists with advising clients and account leads on social media and digital strategy, including review copy and content calendars for digital optimization
  • Produces regular analytics reports on social media, website and digital marketing campaign performance
  • Conducts detailed digital communications research and analysis for Ceisler Media clients, their issues, causes and campaigns
  • Assists with community management and engagement on social media
  • Coordinates with creative team on creation of websites, graphics and videos
  • Assists in managing the firm’s internal branded communications, including our website, social media and newsletter
  • Assists with streamlining and implementing internal digital processes across the firm, as well as communicating with internal stakeholders
  • Handles various administrative and operations tasks, including but not limited to coordinating client billing information, executing internal communications, research, updating databases, organizing digital files, scheduling meetings and notetaking
  • Troubleshoots client issues related to social media

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Hands-on experience with:

  • Principles and methods of planning and executing digital campaigns and strategy
  • Social media management, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Best practices related to social media optimization and algorithm performance
  • Digital advertising platforms, including Meta Business Manager, Twitter Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager and Google Ads
  • Policies related to advertising on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter
  • Analytics reporting, including social media analytics and Google Analytics
  • Digital copywriting for social media and the web
  • Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

 

High-level awareness of:

  • Sprout Social or other social media management applications
  • Content management systems, including SquareSpace, Wix and WordPress
  • Principles and methods of website content management
  • Principles and methods of search engine optimization (SEO)
  • Principles of graphic design, videography and branding (Formal training not required.)
  • Political digital advertising verification and authorization requirements
  • Constant Contact, MailChimp or other email platforms

IN-OFFICE, REMOTE WORK POLICY

Ceisler Media requires all new hires to work five days a week at the employee’s designated office (Philadelphia, Harrisburg or Pittsburgh) for the first three months of employment. This allows new employees to work in-person with a variety of project teams and become better integrated with the firm’s culture and environment. After the first three months, employees are required to work in the office a minimum of three days a week, with four days a week strongly encouraged.
