Inside Media Operations: Turning News into Insight, Every Day
Every morning, while most people are still sipping their first cup of coffee, Ceisler Media & Issue Advocacy’s Media Operations team is already deep into the day’s news cycle — reading, analyzing, and curating reports on the stories that matter most to our clients.
Our mission? Keep clients informed and ensure they’re never caught off guard by a headline.
The Human Touch That Makes the Difference
Here’s what distinguishes our team from tech-based tools: real people, not algorithms.
While AI tools can scan thousands of articles in seconds, they can’t tell you why a competitor’s press release buried on page five of a trade publication might be the most important thing you read all week. They can’t catch the nuance in a reporter’s tone or understand the context behind a seemingly routine story.
Our team of eight Media Operations associates can pinpoint these details. We read the news with trained eyes, apply judgment based on years of experience, and make critical decisions about what truly matters.
We recognize that every headline doesn’t carry the same weight, and knowing the difference is everything.
The Numbers Tell a Story
Our Media Operations team supports 11 clients and manages 19 active clip sets, operating 365 days a year across a vast range of industries: Fortune 50 companies, local nonprofits, environmental groups, sports franchises, financial services firms, arts organizations, healthcare organizations, entertainment brands, and more.
Some clients get monthly roundups. Others need reports six times a day. No two clip sets are the same because no two clients are the same.
Each day, we wade through thousands of articles, broadcasts, radio clips, and online mentions to hand-pick what our clients need to see, should know about, or must act on immediately.
In 2025 alone, this work translated into:
- 244 clips delivered daily
- Over 63,500 clips sent this year
- 745 search terms monitored every single day, nearly 194,000 analyzed annually
You get the picture — we know our news.
Speed Meets Strategy
When breaking news hits or a crisis erupts, we get to work immediately. Some clip sets launch within hours. Other sets require more time and construction.
The process starts with a conversation — what’s happening, what matters, and what is needed from us. Then, we get to work building search strategies, identifying the right outlets, balancing broadcast and digital monitoring, designing reports that are actually useful (not just comprehensive), and mapping out delivery schedules.
Behind the scenes, I’m building detailed guidelines, assessing team capacity, and redistributing workloads while also working with my team to lock in coverage, clarify expectations, and address any questions before we go live.
But these steps are just the beginning. We’re constantly refining, tweaking searches, adjusting formats, and incorporating feedback to keep the reports flowing and relevant.
