At Ceisler Media, we’ve worked with various county governments and nonprofit organizations during the 2024 election cycle to tackle nonpartisan issues like transparency in the election process, voter education and civic engagement.
Through collaboration with these clients, Ceisler Media has played a pivotal role in promoting democratic values and ensuring voter confidence in the 2024 election. Our initiatives, ranging from media training and social media campaigns to grassroots advocacy and community engagement, have helped create a more informed and involved electorate.
Ceisler Media works with three Philadelphia collar counties – Chester County, Montgomery County and Delaware County – to provide full-service communications support. Given the magnitude of the 2024 election, much our work with the counties in 2024 has been election-focused. Services include:
Through many years of supporting clients in their work to defend democracy, Ceisler Media has developed a tried-and-true playbook for supporting governments through elections while also assisting with day-to-day communications support. Each county is unique and every circumstance requires a tailored response.
Highlights
In preparation for the general election, 60 Minutes conducted a profile of Chester County. The episode provided a behind-the-scenes look at the many checks and balances in place to safeguard the vote and ensure an accurate count. The Ceisler Media team spent Primary day in Chester County this year to document the entire process with a camera crew, and worked with the county to produce educational videos on how mail ballots are processed, and how ballot dropboxes are secured.
You may have heard about the first-of-its-kind Voter Van in Montgomery County. Ceisler Media was proud to have a hand in that project – designing the van wrap for the county’s mobile voter services. Additionally, our team provided media trainings for the County Commissioners and elections director to help them prepare for election-related inquiries.
Additionally, Ceisler Media facilitated social media advertising campaigns in Delaware and Montgomery counties for the Primary and General elections, helping spread important information to county residents about voter registration, mail-in ballots and more.
Our team was on the ground in all three counties on Election Day to provide support as needed on what turned out thankfully to be a relatively smooth election.
Pennsylvania’s swing state status means the Commonwealth is the epicenter of presidential elections. Long before campaign activity starts, our good-government clients are hard at work making sure eligible voters are registered, educated and prepared.
Ceisler Media worked with nonpartisan nonprofit Committee of Seventy through the April 2024 Primary to amplify its commitment to transparency and ethical practices in our democratic process. Our work included training their staff on effective social media campaigns, writing and placing op-eds and letters to the editor, advising on community engagement strategies and connecting their team with Friends Select School to host a Student Civic Engagement Workshop.
We worked with Campaign Legal Center to create the Secure Vote PA campaign, reassuring voters that Pennsylvania elections are safe and secure. We used grassroots tactics to build an arsenal of trusted messengers who shared important information with audiences across the state. For example, we conducted a podcast with a married couple from Chester County who volunteer as poll workers – she is a Democrat and he is a Republican. We then turned their interview into a series of blog posts, highlighting the bipartisan efforts and community volunteers that go into ensuring election security.
Ballot PA is an effort to repeal closed primaries in Pennsylvania, which would allow more than one million registered Independent voters to have their voices heard in primary elections. We secured a variety of earned media placements, and designed and placed a billboard in downtown Harrisburg urging legislators to pass a bill repealing closed primaries. The campaign resulted in an historic vote in which a majority of PA House members voted to repeal closed primaries.
Pennsylvania Voice is a long-time client, and we’ve worked with them on protecting and expanding voting rights, ensuring a fair Census, and advocating for racial equity in the state legislative redistricting process in years past. In 2024, we worked with them to promote legislation introduced by Speaker Joanna McClinton that would establish early voting in Pennsylvania and abolish voter registration deadlines. We also helped promote parties in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh where voters could cast mail ballots early in person while engaging with their community, and making voting fun. We also did design and paid social media work as part of this campaign.
