JOB SUMMARY
Ceisler Media seeks a Senior Account Executive to support client-facing work across a variety of industries, with opportunities to lead projects.
As a Senior Account Executive, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategic communications initiatives for our clients. This position demands a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of media landscapes, exceptional communication skills, and a knack for building and maintaining strong client relationships. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive campaigns that align with our clients’ business objectives and enhance their public image.
As a senior member of our team, you will also mentor junior staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. An essential part of this role is being able to apply platform-specific industry best practices to individual clients’ needs, tailoring strategies based on a standardized playbook. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages relationships with clients and leads project teams, developing project timelines and key deliverables
- Develops, drives, and implements multi-faceted communications, media relations and grassroots advocacy plans
- Supports the creation of compelling materials including press releases, media advisories, letters to the editor/op-eds, media pitches, speeches, testimony, byline articles, content calendars, e-newsletters, social media graphics, etc.
- Manages media outreach, including both proactive (crafting pitches, developing reporter relationships, etc.) and reactive (taking media calls about events, breaking news, crisis communications, etc.)
- Manages campaigns and coalitions around advocacy issues, including email communications and regular contact with coalition partners and key stakeholders
- Assists with the management of statewide grassroots efforts such as letter-writing, op-ed or LTE campaigns as well as influencer strategies and targeted media placements
- Maintains relationships with key local, regional and statewide stakeholders – including reporters/media outlets, elected officials, civic and community leaders, business leaders, etc.
- Monitors clients’ businesses and industries to maintain a current knowledge base; provides clip reports to clients as needed
- Directs planning of, and manages staffing for, client-related events
- Attends public community stakeholder meetings to support clients’ needs (requires flexibility to work outside normal business and some travel)
- Participates in business development efforts by researching, generating RFP responses and proposals, preparing case studies, attending new business meetings and cultivating relationships with prospective clients
- Supports the firm’s content strategy with case studies, social media content and newsletter submissions
REQUIREMENTS
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office 365, Cision, Critical Mention, Canva, and the leading CMS and social media management platforms
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Highly focused, organized, and with impeccable attention to detail
- Experience leading project teams or client work; client service experience and poise working with senior leadership
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and execute against deliverables under deadlines and competing priorities
- Proficient in leading and integrating digital and social media campaigns into traditional earned media or advocacy efforts
- Understanding of best practices for digital advocacy, social media campaigns, and tracking analytics
- Strong understanding of communications and advocacy; proven track record of engagement.

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
- At least five (5) years of communications experience, focused on digital media in a public relations agency, corporation, in-house communications team or nonprofit organization, and at least three years of professional experience outside an educational environment
- At least one (1) full year of management experience, including direct reports and client relationships
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or a related field
- Candidates without at least four (4) full years of relevant professional experience will not be considered
OFFICE LOCATION & IN-PERSON WORK EXPECTATIONS
This position is based in our Philadelphia office and reports to Ceisler Media’s Senior Vice President of Digital & Creative Services and works closely with coworkers at all levels.
Ceisler Media requires all new hires to work five days a week at the employee’s designated office (Philadelphia, Harrisburg or Pittsburgh) for an orientation period. This allows new employees to work in-person with a variety of project teams and become better integrated with the firm’s culture and environment. After the orientation period, employees are required to work in the office a minimum of three days a week, with four days a week strongly encouraged.
