Meet Our Spring Interns!

Ceisler Media has interns year-round. Our interns help out with a variety of daily tasks and long-term projects. Now that our spring interns are settled in, meet Amana, Katherine and Camila!

 
Amana Abdurrezak

The Basics

Name: Amana Abdurrezak

  • University: Bryn Mawr College

  • Major: International Studies

  • Expected Graduation Date: May 2019

  • Favorite class to date: It’s a tie between my News & Feature Writing class and my International Security class. In News & Feature Writing, I loved seeking out people’s stories and writing about them using varying levels of creativity. And with my security class, it was stimulating to learn about how different international powers define security and react to changes in the global arena.

 

Why You’re Here

What drew you to intern at Ceisler Media?

I’m drawn to the impact and influence effective communication has on society and different populations. I wanted to intern at Ceisler Media to understand how businesses can influence public opinion and how an effective communications strategy can boost or hurt organizations’ public image.

 

What are you hoping to get out of this experience?

I’m hoping to improve my ability to write and strategize in a fast-paced environment! And considering I’m not a native Philadelphian, I want to get a better feel for how companies build strong relationships with different parts of this city.

 

What issue(s) are you most excited to work on?

I’m excited to work on environmental issues and improving sustainability!

 

What are your post-graduation goals?

I’m hoping to work within the policy world, public relations, or media.

  • Person of the moment: Comedian and actress Amanda Seales. Her comedy special and podcast are gold.

 

Anything else the world should know about you?

I may not be from Philadelphia, but I’ve been a die-hard Eagles fan since I was a kid.

 
 
Katherine Desrochers

Name: Katherine Desrochers

  • Favorite class to date: Argumentation and Advocacy

 

Why You’re Here

What drew you to intern at Ceisler Media?

Ceisler does work with some awesome nonprofit clients like the Philadelphia Children’s Alliance and Immigration Hub. They’re coming up with new ways to reach their goals every day and I really wanted to be a part of that process.

 

What are you hoping to get out of this experience?

I hope to get to know and learn from everyone in the office, hear about their journey in public relations, and grow as a communicator.

 

What issue(s) are you most excited to work on?

I think I am most excited to start working with Immigration Hub as the 2020 Election gets closer and closer.

 

What are your post-graduation goals?

It would be awesome to do some work in the 2020 election cycle or work in nonprofit communication.

Camila Delgado

Name: Camila Delgado

  • Expected Graduation Date: Fall 2019

  • Favorite class to date: Urban Studies and Politics – Mayor Street actually taught the class and was able to bring local politicians to class

Why You’re Here

What drew you to intern at Ceisler Media?

I loved Ceisler’s focus on local politics and the impact they’ve had on politicians and major companies around Philadelphia.

 

What are you hoping to get out of this experience?

I’m hoping to learn more about the PR world and what my strengths are in this field.

 

What issue are you most excited to work on?

Housing and immigration

 

What are your post-graduation goals?

My goal is to go to graduate school!

  • Favorite Snack Food: Chex Mix is my weakness

  • Currently Binging: The Fyre documentaries on both Netflix and Hulu and American Crime Story: The assassination of Gianni Versace

  • Song stuck in your head: I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston (This song has been stuck in my head for the last 2 years so if you have song suggestions for me, please send my way!!)

  • Person of the moment: Big fan of First Lady, Michelle Obama. She is so inspirational and I highly suggest her book!

I was born in Peru and I’m fluent in Spanish!
