Part-time media operations associate
ABOUT THE JOB
Ceisler Media & Issue Advocacy is seeking a part-time employee to grow with its media operations department
EDUCATION
Currently enrolled in a college or university, or obtained associate’s or bachelor’s degree in communications, English, business, or the liberal arts (minimum requirement of at least two years of undergrad education completed)
RESPONSIBILITIES
News monitoring
Conducting news searches via direct searches and using media monitoring platforms
Monitoring panel events, as well as relevant local government hearings
Drafting and distributing briefings on events and hearings to clients
Research and outreach to media outlets and local organizations on speaking engagements or editorial opportunities for clients
Client interaction via email
Adhere to strict formatting guidelines for news articles and social media posts
REQUIREMENTS
Strict attention to detail
Enjoy reading the news and reading about various subjects
Excellent research skills
Familiarity with Google News
Ability to discern industry subject matters and understand how certain types of media coverage could potentially impact our clients
Quick problem-solver
Familiarity with media monitoring applications like Critical Mention, Cision, Sprout Social, TV Eyes, Meltwater, or other monitoring platforms a plus
Responsive to emails, willing to take direction, and ask questions when in doubt
Flexible schedule, with early morning, evening and weekend availability
